Raymore man accused of killing wife during argument

The Kansas City Star

Cass County authorities on Monday charged a Raymore man with first-degree murder in connection with his wife’s death.

Raymore police, responding just after 7 a.m. Saturday to a residence in the 300 block of Sunrise Drive, found Danielle Beckett with two gunshot wounds to the head.

Beckett later was pronounced dead at Research Medical Center in Kansas City.

During a subsequent police interview, Erick Beckett said he and his wife had been having an argument in a bedroom. When he picked up a firearm from the mattress, it “discharged twice in the direction of Mrs. Beckett,” according to court documents.

Authorities have set a $500,000 bond for Beckett.
