Kansas City police on Monday identified a man found shot to death in a back yard Sunday morning as Michael C. Simpson, 32, of Kansas City.
Neighbors in the 3000 block of Flora Avenue heard gunshots about 8 p.m. Saturday, but none of them looked outside. The next morning, they saw Simpson’s body behind a vacant house and called police about 7:50 a.m. He had been shot several times, police said.
His relatives told police they didn’t know why he would be in the area.
