KC man’s death following house fire ruled homicide

The death of a 78-year-old Kansas City man in a Wednesday morning house fire has been ruled a homicide, police said today.

Firefighters pulled George Graham from his burning home in the 4100 block of Wayne Avenue, but he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police did not disclose a cause of death, but investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Detectives were continuing to investigate the crime today and asked anyone with information to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.

George Graham always looked out for his neighbors. Now his family is hoping some of them can help police, who are investigating what is believed to be an intentionally set fire that killed the 78-year-old Graham in his central Kansas City home Wednesday morning.
